We Need Your Help

The Sutton Co. has called 120 South Main Street in Naples, New York home since 1944 when Jack Stafford leased the building from Rose Tobey, matriarch of the Tobey Clothing Company. The original construction happened in the mid-1860s and in 1898, the Tobeys temporarily moved to another storefront while more space was added on the back end of the building and the front was renovated. At that time, or shortly after, the beautiful pressed tin ceiling was installed. This historic building has been a prominent fixture on Main Street for more than 150 years.

The Sutton Company building is in need of restoration and preservation so that it remains a viable and productive part of the historic business district. While there are many projects that are on our wishlist, the most vital, the most immediate need is to renovate the foundation to the back addition. With the guidance of a structural engineer, we have developed Phase 1 of a renovation plan to rebuild the foundation and lower level. The estimated cost will be $100 to 135K

Please consider donating to the building repair fund to help us keep this building a part of the Naples landscape.
